About the role

The Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician will perform and interpret laboratory tests of all complexity levels at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital. This full‑time evening position supports patient care by ensuring accurate and timely test results.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain regulatory knowledge, quality‑control documentation, instrument calibration, and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and document results.
  • Identify and resolve test performance issues or notify supervisors as needed.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Meets CLIA qualifications for high‑complexity testing personnel.
  • Certification eligible or certified by ASCP or AMT (preferred).

Required skills

  • PCR knowledge.
  • Pipetting experience.
