Medical Technologist / Lab Technician – Blood Bank

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Medical Technologist, MLT, or Lab Technician to work night shifts in the Blood Bank of the Transfusion Services‑Diagnostics Institute. This position involves performing and interpreting laboratory tests of all complexity levels to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and record‑keeping.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, quality control policies, instrument calibrations, and documentation practices.
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and address any quality issues promptly.
• Participate in continuing education, professional development, and annual competency assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA high‑complexity testing personnel qualifications (grandfathering clause).
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT, MLS) through ASCP or AMT is preferred.
