Medical Records Specialist – On‑site in New York City

About the role

MedReview is seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Records Specialist to join its Document Management team in New York City. You will be responsible for processing incoming medical records quickly and accurately while delivering high‑quality service to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Enter data from incoming medical records and appeals into the system in a timely manner.
• Review correspondence to identify document types and route them for appropriate action.
• Acknowledge receipt of documents for Document Management processing.
• Identify late appeal requests and notify the Operations Unit Manager.
• File and retrieve hard‑copy and electronic documents, including letters, worksheets, and charts.
• Assist reviewers in locating unidentified documents and raise inquiries via the Halo platform.
• Follow updated policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.

Required profile

• Motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and reliable with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the Operations Unit Manager.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology such as DRG, Cost Outlier, and Readmission is preferred.
• Experience in release of information, medical records, or a related healthcare environment is a plus.
