Medical Lab Technician – Fort Smith

About the role

Join the UAMS Family Medicine Center in Fort Smith as a Medical Lab Technician. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day blood draw and testing operations, ensuring accurate specimen collection and laboratory analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain patient specimens and perform phlebotomy according to safety standards.
• Conduct laboratory tests, maintain testing equipment, and prepare specimens for transport to external facilities.
• Document results and adhere to regulatory and quality‑control requirements.

Required profile

• Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program.
• At least six months of phlebotomy experience.
• Eligibility for ASCP (or equivalent) certification.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy and specimen handling.
• Laboratory testing procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in a clinical lab.
