Medical Assistant - Rheumatology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Rheumatology‑Ambulatory Operations team at The Richard Jacobs Health Center in Avon, Ohio. This full‑time position supports patient care, medication management, and administrative functions in a fast‑paced outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, specimen collection, and documentation of patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the care team.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program.
• Completion of a clinical externship (or extensive clinical experience).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross (within new‑hire period).
• Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.
• Military training as Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician considered.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Assisting certification (preferred).
• Clinical proficiency in patient monitoring and specimen handling.
