Medical Assistant – Palliative Care Clinic (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support a palliative care clinic, providing individualized patient care under the supervision of a licensed health‑care provider. The role involves direct interaction with patients, families, and the clinical team to ensure smooth, compassionate visits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients and providers for each visit, ensuring all necessary information and equipment are ready.
• Answer patient questions, provide clear explanations of services, and document all interactions in the electronic system.
• Maintain accurate patient registration, clinical documentation, and confidentiality of health information.
• Communicate effectively by phone and in person to coordinate care and address patient needs promptly.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED; preferred completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Clinical knowledge and proficiency with computer software, web‑based applications, and electronic health records.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and health‑care staff.
