About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Medical Assistant, providing clinical and administrative support within a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment. You will work under the direction of licensed nurses or providers, helping to ensure smooth patient flow and high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures, collect medical histories, and manage medication refill requests.
• Collect and process lab specimens, obtain referrals and authorizations, and identify potential patient risks for the care team.
• Perform front‑office duties such as greeting patients, handling co‑payments, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate EMR documentation.

Required profile

• Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant and ability to adapt to constant change in a healthcare setting.
• Strong initiative, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent computer proficiency with EMR systems, word processing, and Excel.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) within 30 days of hire.

Required skills

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) navigation and data entry.
• Microsoft Excel and word processing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
