Medical Assistant – General Dermatology

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. The role supports both patients and providers throughout the visit, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout the visit, preparing rooms and ensuring readiness.
• Answer patient questions, provide excellent service over the phone and in person, and complete necessary documentation.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Handle additional duties as assigned, including compliance with Department of Transportation drug testing programs when applicable.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Clinical knowledge relevant to dermatology patient care.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
