Rehab Technician – Outpatient Rehab

About the role

This position works under direct on‑premises supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist. The Rehab Technician provides therapeutic modality treatments, prepares therapy areas and patients, and transports patients safely using wheelchairs or stretchers. The role also ensures equipment cleanliness, operability, and compliance with infection control policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain work areas, order supplies, and mentor new staff.
• Monitor and assist patient care as instructed by therapists.
• Assist with office and front‑desk procedures.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas safely.
• Adapt behavior to respect patient privacy and communication needs.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework in Healthcare Sciences preferred.
• Five years of relevant experience, or enrollment in a PT/OT or PTA/COTA program as a substitute.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Computer skills for data entry and retrieval, with proficiency in Windows‑style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
