About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the Diabetes Center at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, providing a welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors while assisting clinical and administrative staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with screenings, treatments, medication updates, allergy information, specimen collection, and documentation of patient care.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program.
  • Completion of a clinical externship (or extensive clinical experience).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross (within new‑hire period).
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Required skills

  • Medical Assisting Certification (preferred).
  • Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
