Medical Assistant – Cardiology

About the role

Join the Cardiology Practice at Indian River Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, to provide compassionate care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will work in a collaborative environment using state‑of‑the‑art technology and support both clinical and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, medication management, and specimen collection.
• Monitor patient conditions, document changes, and communicate with providers.
• Administer specific medications under provider direction.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) obtained within the new‑hire period.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Required skills

• Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA, or CCMA) – preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to operate office and clinical equipment.
• Manual dexterity and ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
