About the role

The University of Miami UHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to join its Plantation Clinic. The role provides hands‑on patient care, supports medical providers, and ensures delivery of safe, culturally competent services in line with institutional policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses with clinical procedures, patient assessments, and documentation.
• Provide direct patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, escalating issues when necessary.
• Participate in unit/clinic meetings, contribute to team morale, and support conflict‑resolution efforts.
• Utilize available technology for documentation, communication, and accessing clinical information.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and stay current with evidence‑based practices.

Required profile

• Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of a licensed physician and follow delegated tasks from nursing leadership.
• Commitment to ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with patients and families.
