About the role

The University of Miami Health System is launching UHealth/SoLé Mia in North Miami and seeks a full‑time Medical Assistant 1 to provide direct clinical support to physicians and patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms with supplies, instruments and ensure proper aseptic technique.
  • Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and document results in the patient’s medical record.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, including wound care, sutures, casts and splints under supervision.
  • Schedule tests, complete laboratory forms, manage inventory, and perform clerical duties as needed.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or NRCMA) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, handle stressful situations with composure, and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights and weekends as required.

  • Vital signs measurement
  • Basic casting and splinting (preferred)
  • Current CPR and HIV training
