Med Surg Assistant Nurse Manager - Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is hiring a Med Surg Assistant Nurse Manager for night shifts. The schedule is full-time, 3-12s from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with an every-other-weekend rotation, totaling 72 hours per pay period. Multiple openings exist across Med Surg Observation, Telemetry, Neuro/Stroke or Cardiac units.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans for venous access and infusion therapy.
• Administer and monitor infusion therapy, adjust care plans and educate patients on venous access and infusion therapy.
• Monitor nursing staff performance, give feedback, run appraisals and implement improvement plans.
• Mentor and precept new staff, organize training programs and resolve staff conflicts through mediation.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and improving patient care and operational efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• 1+ year of charge nurse or relevant leadership experience.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute care setting in the past 12 months.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and basic computer skills, including an electronic health record.
