About the role
Mechanical Engineers are the heart of the Charge team, designing, diagnosing, and improving critical assemblies for our large electromechanical factory and fleet of delivery vehicles that build solar farms.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and iterate mechanical systems for solar assembly.
- Track, investigate, and resolve hardware issues with robots in the field.
- Collaborate with other engineers to integrate new designs.
- Work with large‑scale mechanisms and robotic components.
Required profile
- Proficient with industry‑standard CAD software (Onshape).
- Hands‑on experience fabricating parts and knowing when to outsource drawings.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced startup environment and able to work onsite 4‑5 days a week in the SF Bay Area.
- Willing to travel 10‑15% to solar construction sites for field deployment.
- Motivated by direct climate impact.
