Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Charge Robotics you will design and implement the electrical systems that power our robotic factory, directly contributing to the deployment of gigawatts of clean energy generation.

Key responsibilities

• Designing, testing, and validating electrical systems including power distribution, control circuits, and signal conditioning for our robotic factory.
• Selecting and integrating motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and other electrical/electronic components to meet system requirements for reliability and performance.
• Creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs while establishing standards for electrical documentation and best practices.
• Troubleshooting electrical issues in factory and field deployments, working closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Scaling electrical systems from design to manufacturing and deployment.

Required profile

• Strong experience in electrical engineering with hands‑on skills in power systems, control systems, and industrial automation.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams; proficient with CAD tools for electrical design.
• Experience specifying and integrating electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, relays, PLCs) and knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
• Previous experience in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site 4‑5 days/week in San Leandro and relocate to the SF Bay Area if needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and motivation to contribute to climate change mitigation.
