Mechanic – Truck Class 8 Highway

About the role

The company seeks a safety‑sensitive mechanic to maintain and repair its Class 8 highway trucks and crushing equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, inspections, and occasional welding or cutting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, pre‑shift inspections, and repairs on mobile equipment and crushing fleet.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, and communicate repair needs with the shop.
• Weld, braze, and cut components as required; may travel to multiple work locations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 3 + years of heavy‑equipment mechanical experience.
• Pass drug screen, background check, and maintain a safe driving record (CDL beneficial).
• Flexibility to work day shifts and adapt to varied schedules.

Required skills

• Welding, brazing and cutting.
• Use of CAT ET program for troubleshooting and calibration.
• Reading electrical schematic diagrams and technical manuals.
• Repair of diesel/gas engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, hydraulic, fuel, AC and brake systems.
