Mechanic III (Light Duty)

About the role

Lewis Energy Group is hiring a Mechanic III (Light Duty) in Encinal, Texas. The mechanic performs preventative maintenance and routine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs on company assets, including all light duty vehicles and trailers, working in both a shop and a field environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on half-ton to one-ton equipment according to established guidelines and time frames.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of failures and repairs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Act as an assistant to more senior mechanics on larger jobs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose routine problems or recurring malfunctions, consult the supervisor for accuracy and approval, and complete repairs and modifications.
• Perform daily inspections of tools and equipment and keep hand tools, equipment and parts clean.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum one year of related experience or training.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions.

Required skills

• Basic computer use and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of CMMS software is a plus.
• Math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, rates, ratios and percents, and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Strong communication and time management skills, and ability to work under pressure.

The work involves walking, standing, climbing and balancing, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat and vibration, and occasional fumes or electrical shock risk.
