Materials Test Engineer

About the role

AeroShield is seeking a Materials Test Engineer to support testing and inspection of silica aerogel materials and finished products. You will work in a hands‑on laboratory environment, ensuring optical quality and fundamental material properties meet rigorous standards.

Key responsibilities

• Become a subject‑matter expert in optical and material property testing for aerogels and insulated glass units (IGUs).
• Perform incoming, in‑process, and outgoing material tests while maintaining a detailed laboratory notebook and accurate data entry.
• Collaborate with the technical team on continuous‑improvement initiatives, including test‑method refinement, defect identification, process gap analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
• Support experimental procedures and contribute to research and development projects.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure testing equipment is serviced, calibrated, and verified regularly.
