Material Science Market Support

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Material Science Market Support professional in Wayne, USA, to assist assigned Market Managers in their portfolio of key suppliers across North America, with a focus on promotion and profitable growth while keeping in mind corporate goals and supplier targets. The role works closely with the Industry Market Manager (IMM) on a North American basis.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze market trends and prepare forecasts for assigned products to meet inventory-turn targets and reduce dead and extremely slow-moving stock
• Coordinate with the IMM on order fulfilment and transportation to ensure inventory minimums and deadlines are met
• Take part with sales management, product managers and business units in recommending price changes based on market intelligence
• Help create product-line strategies for select markets and support strategic relationships with key suppliers
• Provide technical support to sales, marketing, procurement, regulatory and operations teams, and support pricing across regional operating companies
• Collaborate with regional operating companies and help drive process improvements
• Use specialist computer applications, including third-party portals, and communicate professionally with sales, management, customers and suppliers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in science or business; specialized courses in target industries are an asset
• Previous sales or product experience in chemical distribution or a related industry
• Self-motivated and task-oriented

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products
• Presentation, communication and negotiation skills, and marketing and pricing skills are an asset
