Material Handler - First Shift

About the role

Armstrong Fluid Technology is hiring a Material Handler in Niagara Falls, NY, working the first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role ensures the smooth and efficient flow of materials through the manufacturing facility while following quality standards and safety guidelines. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

• Follow 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to keep the workplace organized, efficient and safe
• Load, unload and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment
• Track and manage inventory so materials are stored properly and easily accessible
• Deliver and stage components to the production line
• Operate radio frequency equipment for inventory transactions
• Inspect materials for defects or damage and report issues to supervisors
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
• Assist with quarterly inventory and perform additional tasks as needed

Required profile

• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of previous material handling experience
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
• Regularly lifts and moves up to 50 lbs; occasionally more with assistance
• Able to do basic computer tasks

Required skills

• Ability to operate a forklift (forklift certification a plus)
• Knowledge of other warehouse machinery
• RF scanning experience is required
