Buyer/Planner

About the role

Moog is seeking a Buyer/Planner to support its Space and Defense Group in Niagara Falls, NY. The role combines strategic supplier development with day‑to‑day buying to ensure program schedules, cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a procurement specialist, creating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Negotiate suppliers, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reduction.
• Manage supplier performance, on‑time delivery, and quality metrics, escalating issues as needed.
• Collaborate with shop planning, production, and engineering to support component gating and kit releases.
• Perform data‑driven analyses and trend analysis to identify opportunities and forecast needs.
• Place and expedite purchase orders, monitor PO status and delivery dates.
• Support master planning with forecasting inputs and procurement lead‑time updates.
• Participate in cross‑functional problem‑solving initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or related field, OR an Associate’s degree with 2 years procurement/planning experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to complete full physical testing including bloodwork and pulmonary function.

Required skills

• Experience with PowerBi.
