Master Mechanic – Heavy Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The Master Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting our mobile equipment and crushing fleet in a safety‑sensitive environment. This full‑time position requires strong technical expertise and a commitment to safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, pre‑shift inspections, and repairs on mobile and crushing equipment.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, and conduct welding, brazing, and cutting as needed.
• Communicate equipment status to the shop and follow all MSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of mechanical experience with heavy or rock‑crushing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL beneficial) and ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Technical school certification or welding certification preferred.

Required skills

• Welding, brazing and cutting proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
• Experience with CAT ET troubleshooting and calibration program.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for engines, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
