Market Surveillance Vice President

About the role

Join Barclays as a Market Surveillance Vice President to strengthen the firm’s global market surveillance program. You will assess surveillance models, identify emerging market risks, and support the detection and prevention of market abuse.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor market activity, including order flows, prices, volumes and communications to detect potential misconduct.
• Conduct in‑depth investigations of suspected market manipulation, insider trading and other abuses.
• Support projects and regulatory initiatives related to the market surveillance framework.
• Provide accurate reports to regulators, internal stakeholders and senior management.

Required profile

• Experience maintaining and enhancing market surveillance programs in financial services or investment banking.
• Strong understanding of market abuse typologies, MiFID II, MAR and related regulations.
• Proven analytical ability to interpret complex trading data and evaluate surveillance effectiveness.

Required skills

• Data analytics and risk‑based methodology application.
• Assessment, testing and optimisation of surveillance models and alert‑generation processes.
• Collaboration with compliance, technology, surveillance operations and business leadership.
