Manufacturing & Test Engineering Intern – Fall 2026

About the role

Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self‑assembling tiles for modular spacecraft. As a Manufacturing and Test Engineering Intern, you will support the creation and verification of these spacecraft components during the Fall 2026 term.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain testbeds for power, docking, and communication subsystems.
• Create work procedures and identify optimizations for spacecraft tile manufacturing.
• Design and build fixtures and test jigs to enable repeatable hardware verification.
• Track, troubleshoot, and report manufacturing defects, feeding insights back into design.
• Assist in building test data pipelines to capture results consistently across builds.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Comfortable using hand tools, performing basic soldering, and assembling hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written test procedures.

Required skills

• Basic soldering and hardware assembly.
• Experience with battery pack assembly or handling lithium‑ion cells (preferred).
• Familiarity with environmental test equipment such as thermal chambers and vibration tables (preferred).
• Knowledge of test automation or data logging tools (Python, LabVIEW, or similar) (preferred).
• Understanding of quality or manufacturing processes (preferred).
