About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician III for the 2nd shift to work in a cleanroom environment building, repairing, and testing high‑value display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves hands‑on assembly of electro‑mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic and fluid delivery systems supporting semiconductor and advanced display technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and work instructions to assemble, integrate and test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic and fluid delivery components.
- Assemble plumbing skid systems, install tubing, valves, regulators, filters and gauges according to engineering specifications.
- Perform junction box and control enclosure wiring, cable routing, labeling and verification of electrical connections.
- Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to verify assemblies and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum issues.
- Document progress, labor and expense data, and conduct software programming, repairs or installations as required.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training.
- 2–4 years of experience in semiconductor or display equipment manufacturing, or comparable industry/military background.
- Ability to work independently on a 2nd‑shift schedule and serve as a resource for junior colleagues.
Required skills
- Electro‑mechanical assembly and integration.
- Vacuum and pneumatic system handling.
- Use of electronic measurement and leak detection equipment.
- Electrical wiring, cable harness installation and schematic interpretation.
- Computer programming and software installation for equipment.
- Operation of hand tools, power tools and forklifts.
