Process Technician, Electrochemical

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Technician to support electrochemical wafer processing and analysis. The role involves preparing wafers, operating thin‑film reactors, and using scanning electron microscopes to generate critical data for semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare wafers for experimentation, including cleaning and reactor preparation.
• Operate reactors to perform thin‑film processes under limited supervision.
• Run scanning electron microscopes (SEM) for cross‑section, top‑view, CD or EDS analysis and imaging.
• Prepare cross‑section samples for SEM analysis and optimize sample‑prep procedures.
• Record process conditions, experimental observations and generate result summaries.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, alignment, flash and plasma cleaning, and coordinate repairs.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in a relevant field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in wafer preparation, reactor operation or SEM analysis.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment and follow PPE protocols.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 35 lb and handle tools.
