Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the role

CACI is looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join its Optical and Photonics Systems Division in Orlando, Florida. The division designs, develops and manufactures complex communications systems for military, space and commercial applications. The position is full time, regular, with no minimum clearance required to start and up to 10% travel within the continental US.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fabrication process development, documentation, ECOs, process training and maintain production yield, quality and cleanliness
• Interface with design engineers to ensure hardware producibility and develop build strategies
• Drive cost reduction and apply the best process control to deliver top-quality products
• Direct support personnel in the day-to-day execution of manufacturing tasks
• Translate new ideas and concepts into tangible process improvements
• Plan and support the build and modification of electronics systems, including procurement support, assembly methods and work instructions, tooling design support, material and process development, facilities and equipment planning, and resolution of manufacturing, quality and reliability issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in ME, EE or OE, or an Associate's degree with equivalent education and experience in optics manufacturing, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a similar industrial field
• Knowledge of process control, cleanroom operation protocols and process control for complex opto-mechanical and electro-optical assembly
• Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test and integration of complex product technologies and systems, DoD or Space
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across all levels
• US citizen able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Required skills

• Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
• Preferred: knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-883, NASA specs)
• Preferred: Manufacturing Execution System experience
