Manufacturing Engineering Technician

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is the primary escalation point for complex equipment, automation and process performance issues. This role blends advanced troubleshooting, data analysis, process optimization and project leadership to boost equipment reliability, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor product yield and performance in dry and wet production areas, analyzing downtime, scrap and equipment data to drive corrective actions.
• Serve as the escalation resource for electrical, mechanical, controls, automation and process issues, troubleshooting PLCs, robotics, vision systems and CNC equipment.
• Lead small‑to‑medium improvement projects focused on quality, productivity, reliability and cost reduction.
• Provide technical mentorship, training and knowledge transfer to technicians, operators and maintenance personnel.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair and process records, ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of maintenance experience with PLC‑controlled equipment in a highly automated environment.
• Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Electromechanics, or related engineering field; extensive hands‑on experience may substitute.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects, support process optimization and collaborate with engineering and equipment suppliers.

Required skills

• Injection molding, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and electromechanical systems.
• Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley preferred), servo motors, VFDs, AC/DC motors, sensors and pneumatic cylinders.
• CNC equipment, industrial robots, vision systems and laser marking systems.
• Interpretation of schematics, technical drawings and process control tools.
• Proficiency with CAD software, MS Office and standard hand/power tools.
