About the role
Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join the Prismatic Manufacturing team in Buffalo, NY. You will help transition operations to the new Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility, working on both new product development and continuous improvement of existing aerospace components.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC milling and secondary machining processes for new and legacy parts.
- Create detailed CNC programs, manufacturing instructions, and operation sheets that meet strict engineering specifications.
- Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for high‑precision part fabrication.
- Troubleshoot shop‑floor issues such as tooling, work‑holding, and inspection challenges.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve producibility and resolve manufacturing problems.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and suggest design improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years, or 8+ years of proven experience.
- Proficiency in CNC mill machining and hands‑on machine setup/operation.
- At least 3 years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
- Preferred: degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering; aerospace industry background; experience with machine automation integration; inspection skills; machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum; proficiency with Siemens NX; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Lean Six Sigma certification a plus).
