Manager, SEO/GEO

About the role

The Manager SEO defines and implements strategic initiatives to drive organic traffic and improve the discoverability of content on homedepot.com. The role leads a team that applies Search Engine Optimization best practices through partnership with Merchandising, Marketing, Engineering and other external partners, providing thought leadership and advancing SEO systems and practices within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Business collaboration (40%): manage SEO workstreams across enterprise-level projects so deliverables are on time and within expectations
• Project management (15%): outline goals, dependencies, resources and risks, and establish business cases for new projects with projected benefits
• Relationship management (20%): guide and direct resources so they are trained and perform at the required level
• Training and development (25%): set up processes, train and share knowledge so capabilities can be handed off to capability owners, and keep up with changes in the SEO industry and technical capabilities

The position typically reports to the Sr. Manager SEO and has 5 direct reports. Travel is typically under 5% overnight, and the work is mostly done sitting indoors.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States
• 5+ years of experience in ecommerce or SEO with a proven track record of results
• Prior experience with enterprise-level SEO, preferably in ecommerce
• Experience managing others, directly or indirectly
• Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum education is a high school diploma or GED

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of analytical/statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Stata)
• Enterprise SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Lumar and Brightedge
• Strong collaboration, communication, analytical and decision-making skills
