Manager, Research Project Administration

About the role

The Manager, Research Project Administration oversees the administrative, financial, and compliance aspects of sponsored research projects at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi’s Autonomy Research Institute. Working closely with Principal Investigators and project partners, the role ensures projects run efficiently and meet all sponsor and university requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all sponsored research administration activities, including monitoring expenditures, validating transactions, and documenting costs per approved budgets.
• Administer pre‑award and post‑award processes to ensure compliance with Texas A&M University System, state, and sponsor fiscal policies.
• Prepare and oversee sponsor financial and administrative reports.
• Advise and support Principal Investigators on sponsor requirements, budgeting, and compliance.
• Supervise assigned project staff responsible for financial monitoring, billing, and sponsor coordination.
• Manage sponsor communications and ensure timely reporting.

Required profile

• Experience managing sponsored research projects, grants, and contracts.
• Strong knowledge of university, state, and sponsor fiscal and compliance policies.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with investigators and external partners.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
