Assistant Professor of Finance/Financial Planning

About the role

The Department of Finance at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Finance/Financial Planning to begin in Fall 2027. The position supports the college’s financial planning curriculum and prepares students for the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) examination.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in financial planning topics such as retirement, estate, tax, insurance, investment, and employee benefits, as well as core finance subjects as needed.
• Maintain an active research agenda, contribute to scholarly activities, and publish in relevant finance journals.
• Advise and mentor students, participate in curriculum development, and provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Financial Planning or Finance from an AACSB‑accredited institution (ABD candidates considered if degree is conferred at appointment).
• Earned CFP® designation or completion of all educational requirements to sit for the CFP® exam, with the exam to be passed within two years of employment.
