Manager Partner Engineer

About the role

Checkout.com, a payments platform powering digital experiences for companies such as eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber and Sony, is looking for a Manager Partner Engineer in San Francisco. The role is the technical owner of the partner integration lifecycle, from discovery with partners and selection of System Integrators to building integrations and project management. It sits between partnerships and product and engineering teams, internally and externally.

Key responsibilities

• Own the partner integration lifecycle: technical discovery with partners, selection of System Integrators, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) for new integrations and technical project management.
• Act as the interface between partnerships and product/engineering teams, internally and externally.
• Provide subject matter expertise on platforms for merchants, help with merchant RFPs and technical questions, and route escalation points to partner technical contacts.
• Give input to partnership and product teams on technology trends, integration gaps, future features and platform roadmaps.
• Build integrations into tech stacks, including APIs; run debugging and UAT testing and review code.
• Act as technical evangelist for platform partners internally and externally.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Partner Engineering, Implementation Engineering or a similar role; payments industry experience is a bonus.
• Prior experience building and scaling platform integrations is essential; existing platform-specific industry knowledge and network are a bonus.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong communicator, highly organised, confident working with product and engineering teams, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of eCommerce platforms, subscription management platforms and ERPs.
• Highly familiar with API-based integration methods.
• Frontend and backend development experience, such as JavaScript, PHP or C#.
• DevOps experience from a technical and customer solutions point of view.
