Manager III, Customer Engineer (M3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager III, Customer Engineer to lead a team that delivers start‑up, warranty, and service agreement support for semiconductor equipment. The role balances technical guidance, financial forecasting, and customer satisfaction while driving continuous improvement across service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑up, warranty and service agreement businesses.
• Manage equipment start‑ups, local inventories, RMA procedures and warranty cost reserves.
• Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets and ensure high system uptime for customers.
• Interview, hire, train and develop customer engineers to support regional business.
• Escalate system downtimes following valid procedures and report performance metrics accurately.
• Promote quality‑improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and enhance technical performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7‑10 years of experience in technical service, engineering, or related fields.
• Proven ability to manage a homogeneous team, set goals, and drive results.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to resolve technical, operational and organizational issues.
• Understanding of Applied Materials’ global standards of business conduct and ethical expectations.
