Maintenance Technician - Student Housing

About the role

Yugo, a global student housing provider, is hiring a Maintenance Technician at its Echelon State College property. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will keep the property safe and well-maintained, liaise between residents and management, and deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance. Pay is $20.00-$25.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and respond promptly to maintenance requests, concerns and emergencies with follow-up.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair and carpentry.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment and common areas, and prepare vacant units for new residents.
• Maintain pools, spas and related equipment in line with local certification and safety requirements.
• Take part in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance.
• Keep tool and supply inventory organised and follow OSHA guidelines and safety training.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors and assist with property improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• EPA Type I and above certification preferred; pool maintenance certification preferred if required locally.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in varying weather and moderate noise.

Required skills

• Proficiency with technology and adaptability to online systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Carbon Literacy certification or willingness to train.
