Maintenance Technician – Somerset, NJ

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the physical aspects of its residential properties meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. You will work on building systems, grounds, and common areas to support a comfortable living environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service activities accurately and promptly for proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Experience performing building maintenance and mechanical repairs in a residential or commercial setting.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and code requirements.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Willingness to work onsite and adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.
