Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a maintenance technician in Troy for a night shift (6pm-6am). The technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, supporting the company's business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze test results, machine error messages and operator information to diagnose equipment problems.
• Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery; examine parts for defects.
• Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain industrial machinery such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, VFD/HMI/Servo controls, conveyors, industrial printers, valves, photo eyes, switches, heat exchangers and level controls.
• Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components, cut and weld metal, and fabricate or assemble new parts.
• Refer to blueprints and manufacturer manuals, and operate and support industrial, refrigeration, boiler and utility operations.
• Program computer-controlled machinery, complete scheduled preventative maintenance, and respond to production needs on the floor.
• Document maintenance records, work orders and tasks accurately, and enter planned and unplanned activities into SAP or another MIS/ERP system.
• Follow SOPs, federal, state and local safety regulations, and SQF, GMP and 5S guidelines; comply with the Saputo code of ethics.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of prior industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers and utilities.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends; self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong electrical background and mechanical skills; troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to read electric schematics and use computer-based maintenance planning/PM ERP platforms (SAP a plus).
• Experience with computerized or automated controls is a plus.
