Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

About the role

Barilla America is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its night shift in Ames, Iowa. During their shift, technicians are responsible for the operation, repair, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of all production equipment in the facility. The pay is $36.49 per hour for the night shift, which includes a 10% shift differential, and a relocation bonus is available. Technicians work only half the days each month on a flexible 2-2-3 shift pattern and must be available every other weekend.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep the plant running reliably
• Adjust metal detectors and document work on company forms
• Assist in and lead maintenance procedures, troubleshooting issues and prioritizing work
• Complete projects such as welding, machining, mechanical and electrical work orders
• Monitor plant facilities such as air and fire systems
• Work with operators and partners with Packing and Processing to keep product flowing
• Operate machinery, including format and size changes
• Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs and work with contractors and vendors

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience (mechanical and electrical)
• Prior manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
• Associate degree in maintenance or an equivalent trade school certificate preferred but not required
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position
