Maintenance Technician I - Southeast

About the role

The Maintenance Technician I supports Main Street Renewal's portfolio of single‑family rental homes in the Southeast, handling resident‑reported repairs and ensuring properties meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily work orders, gather repair information, and ensure necessary supplies are on hand.
• Perform a range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, lock rekeying, and exterior repairs.
• Document completed work with before/after photos and close work orders promptly.
• Communicate status updates to the Austin Support Center, Maintenance Lead, and residents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 2‑3 years of maintenance experience, at least 1 year in property management.
• Valid driver’s license, age 21+, and ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on ladders.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Basic plumbing skills.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Carpentry and lock‑key repair abilities.
