Maintenance Technician - Conveyor Repair

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Technician focused on conveyor repair in a complex warehouse environment. The role oversees, maintains and repairs equipment and other facility structures. It reports to an Area Supervisor and typically involves overnight travel of less than 10%.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electric lift equipment, conveyor systems, and technical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues; understand and troubleshoot conveyor operating system logic (about 50% of the role)
• Perform preventative maintenance and necessary modifications on electric lift equipment, conveyor systems and buildings (about 20%)
• Provide equipment status reports, including details of unusual maintenance problems (about 10%)
• Follow manufacturer, Home Depot and government safety guidelines, OSHA standards and safety codes (about 10%)
• Maintain a safe and clean work area, cleaning up daily (about 10%)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings and holidays
• Continuous standing or walking, and regular lifting or carrying of moderately weighted material (8-20 pounds)
• Comfortable working in environments with temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes
• Preferred: experience working on conveyor systems

Required skills

• Experience working with general engine parts
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical inclination
• Trade school degree or equivalent in a related field preferred

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $25.00 - $39.00.
