Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for a distribution center in Newark. The supervisor is responsible for the success of assigned functions in a complex distribution center environment, working with the Maintenance Manager to set strategies and objectives that maximize productivity and leverage expenses. The role manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and facilities, solves problems and typically leads a team of seven direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop associates through formal and informal programs, give performance-based feedback and ensure technical certifications are achieved and sustained
• Maintain a safe culture by following safety policies, monitoring safety and physical security, and inspecting equipment and facilities regularly
• Manage facility repairs, maintenance and installation, review contractor bids and select contractors who meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports and recommend cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facilities and equipment
• Overnight travel of 5% to 20% of the time; intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as lifting, standing and climbing

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field, or preferred: bachelor's degree
• 2 years of work experience minimum, preferred 3 years; preferred 2+ years of leadership experience
• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, cross-functional collaboration, facilities management background and change management experience

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $65,000 - $130,000.
