Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift

About the role

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift at its Reno, NV facility. The position works the core hours of 10 PM to 6:30 AM and offers a competitive hourly rate with a shift differential. You will be part of a team that keeps critical plant equipment running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical malfunctions on plant machinery and facility systems.
• Install, diagnose, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFD drives, vision systems, motor control centers, power distribution centers, and various motor types (DC, AC, stepper, servo).
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment, ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Read and interpret electrical/mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Operate lift trucks, man lifts, and boom lifts for work at elevated locations.
• Fabricate, machine, weld, and perform carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and piping tasks as needed.
• Support continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives across the facility.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial electricity or maintenance.
• Technical school diploma or Associate’s degree in Electronics or Commercial/Industrial Electrical Systems preferred.
• Experience reading electrical/mechanical blueprints and using a CMMS.

Required skills

• Three‑phase and single‑phase power and control circuits.
• Control panel layout and component installation.

• Welding, fabrication, machining, plumbing, painting, masonry, piping, and carpentry.
