Maintenance Supervisor - Ballard Yards

About the role

Ballard Yards, a Greystar apartment community, is hiring an experienced Maintenance Supervisor. The supervisor oversees and performs technical and mechanical work so that the interior and exterior buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet the company's standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality. The role supervises up to 5 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Manage outside vendors and follow up on warranties by email and phone
• Develop standards for the cleanliness and appearance of the property
• Supervise up to 5 employees and periodically inspect their work, as well as contractor and vendor work
• Complete resident work orders and make-ready inspections for vacant units, including punch lists, vendor scheduling and supply procurement
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist the Community Manager in developing the repair, maintenance and capital expense budget
• Carry out monthly preventative maintenance and support cost-control efforts
• Run safety meetings, keep MSDS sheets current and stay up to date on OSHA and other safety requirements

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or related experience and training
• Vast maintenance management experience in multifamily housing
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance or a related trade
• Valid driver's license, and ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (required); property management software such as Yardi or One Site highly desired
• Knowledge of hot water heater repair and maintenance, and basic carpentry
• EPA Type I, II or Universal certification if the position involves sealed HVAC systems
• State and local certifications as required
