Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright - Night Shift

About the role

McWane Ductile New Jersey manufactures water distribution and infrastructure products, including ductile iron pipe from 3" to 24" in diameter. The Maintenance Millwright works the night shift on the manufacturing plant floor, coordinating, assisting, constructing, fabricating, installing, repairing and maintaining production and operational equipment, including machines with hydraulic and pneumatic controls.

Key responsibilities

• Identify malfunctions in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Use mechanical repair tools and equipment correctly
• Make repairs and rebuilds on equipment throughout the plant
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Dismantle machines, move machinery and equipment, and assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and rails
• Construct machine foundations, align machines and bolt, weld or rivet them to foundations or other structures

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: three to five years of experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination
• Ability to read schematics and in-depth knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Professional, supportive interaction with all personnel levels and ability to follow safety procedures
• Motivated self-starter
