Maintenance Mechanic – Manufacturing Equipment

About the role

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support mechanical production equipment and material handling systems at its York, PA plant. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, as well as supporting new equipment setups and preventive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical production equipment and material handling systems.
• Assist with installation and setup of newly purchased or relocated equipment using work orders, drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic malfunctions; replace bearings, gears, shafts, and other components.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and conduct PMs on vacuum pumps, filters, and other machines.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, and safely operate ladders, scaffolding, and material handling devices.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of manufacturing machine maintenance experience.
• Must obtain and maintain certifications: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, ESD, Fall Protection, Man‑lift, Forklift.

Required skills

• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC machine components, overhead cranes, and jib cranes.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and electrical/electronic testing equipment.
