Maintenance Mechanic – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Mechanic to ensure that the institution’s mechanical equipment and assets remain in optimal working condition. The role involves routine upkeep, troubleshooting, and coordination with vendors to support campus operations.

Key responsibilities

• Grease, lubricate, and replace filters in air and hydraulic systems.
• Perform inspections, repairs, and scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and adjust or report them to supervising staff.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
• Order necessary parts and equipment from vendors.
• Follow university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or licenses as required by the department.
• Minimum three years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to university core values.
• Good interpersonal skills.
