Maintenance Mechanic – 3rd Shift (10:30 PM‑7 AM)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Facilities team is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (10:30 PM‑7 AM) at the UHealth Medical Campus. The role ensures that mechanical equipment, building systems, and physical assets remain in safe and functional condition.

Key responsibilities

• Grease, lubricate and replace filters in air and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and building components.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, make adjustments, and report problems to supervising staff.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and inventory logs.
• Order parts and supplies from approved vendors.
• Carry out minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and fire‑extinguisher tasks as needed.
• Assist with building‑wide inspections, roof checks and other facility‑level duties.

Required profile

• Experience or training in mechanical maintenance with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with university and safety policies governing asset protection.
• Willingness to work overnight hours and respond to urgent maintenance calls.
