Machinist Journeyman – 2nd Shift CNC Operator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Journeyman for the 2nd shift at our York, PA plant, where we design and manufacture complex chilled‑water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels. The role involves planning, fabricating, assembling, and welding high‑precision piping and pressure‑vessel components in a union‑represented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling and drilling machines, including horizontal boring mills, SNK and Mori Seiki equipment.
• Perform welding tasks using stick, TIG, manual arc, and submerged‑arc techniques on ferrous and non‑ferrous metals.
• Read and interpret shop prints, process sheets, and program tapes to produce components to exact tolerances.
• Conduct fixture change‑overs, load/unload production parts, and perform on‑line inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain tooling, complete preventive‑maintenance checklists, and monitor control messages for corrective action.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and proof of Journeyman certification.
• 1‑2 years of trades training or equivalent experience with N/C controlled machines.
• Ability to perform moderate physical effort and work continuously with light to average‑weight materials.
