Machinist – 2nd/3rd Shift – $24.82/hr

About the role

3M is hiring Machinists for its Clarkston, Georgia plant on the 2nd or 3rd shift. The position is full‑time and offers a starting wage of $24.82 per hour. You will work on a variety of machining projects, collaborating with global teams to achieve precise grinding results.

Key responsibilities

• Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to develop solutions for grinding operations.
• Operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine and hand tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and make adjustments.
• Identify, handle, and properly manage hazardous waste in accordance with safety regulations.
• Participate in all required safety and regulatory training and follow plant safety rules.
• Analyze equipment and tooling performance, recommending improvements.
• Communicate with other departments regarding quality, safety, and equipment issues.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED (verified before start).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Competence with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, trigonometry, and machining calculations.
